    Best Practice- take photo of back up camera screen during Ck in process. May save you the conversation of ‘you changed my camera angle’. Consider that they have been driving another brand vehicle during repairs. What they recently viewed (license plate bracket, top of bumper) may not be same as their vehicle.

    1" by 1" piece of toilet paper and bring it to the car. Is it sticking on the car like a magnet? You have static. Get a hand steamer, $25- $35, and steam the area few second. Slowly wipe off the moisture = no more static, paper will not stick on your car = no more dust build up. Paper still sticking on the car? Steam the area again, closer, problem solved.

    This gentleman is a genius and as a technician I’ve followed his guidance in my daily operations and in most cases the rest of the shop soon followed and realized how much production picked up, less cost on lost items, and most importantly a declutterred shop that you could easily flow through. I highly suggest any owners to invest and educate from Mike and collision advice. I just went to his classes and southeast collision conference as a technician from a large mso probably the only one there, but I invest in myself to be better any chance I get, and the amount of knowledge and validation gained from him will pay for itself the moment I walk in the shop tomorrow morning. Thank you Mike, Danny, SCRS, and everyone involved for being on the front lines for us in the shop everyday. I wish I was able to show my appreciation to you guys in person but I know you all had a lot going on and I might’ve been a bit nervous 😅 but really thank you all for restoring my confidence and sharing your experience! 🙌🏼

    You have no Idea how long I have been tell the insurance companies and showing them. I use the DEG website all the time. the insurance needs too be held with in the same laws as the estimator. IA , claim reps,and adjusters. Write it Right!!!!!

    Do you need a separate repair order? or supplements need to be done in some work order? Reason is ask because if done in same work order then a full total will show including supplement and repair. And if done in separate work orders then it will show individual prices, what does insurance recommend?

    You can also possibly void a new vehicles warranty if you use the wrong fluid! Never use that ‘universal’ fluid, antifreeze, engine, transmission fluid.

    We started this last year and it has helped! We are not having to scramble to charge batteries at the end of the job or having to buy a battery because we toasted it along the way.

    I couldn't agree more! This is pure and simple just another way the insurance companies try to take advantage of the misinformed shops! If it was meant in the way that they describe then the prompt would/should read exactly that. They love to leave grey areas and then fight you over them.

    It is insane that this conversation is still essential - what - over 15 years after the creation of the Bumper Prompt! The bumper prompt has lead to massive abuse by the insurance industry, a lot of misunderstanding for the estimators/repair planners on the shop floor, and has robbed incentivized hard-working employees wages and shops large and small legitimate profits. In my opinion this prompt was facilitated solely to allow insurers to underpay labor and materials to shops while shops "pay to play" to use it. As I said, and many, many others have said it too, in a word, insane. #SCRSCollision #CollisionAdvice #AutobodyAdvocate

    Excellent video. To bad all the State Ins Departments are in the back pockets of all the insurance companies. I keep a folder that is now 2 inches thick of all the decertified capa parts and tell my customer here are all the parts your ins co thought were lkq to oem but now they are decertified and you can bet your life that the insurance co's didn't call their customers back and tell them oh btw we only paid you for a capa part that is now junk and we want to make you whole and put the right part on your car. This is one crazy business.

    Wrong this is manufactures like Tesla trying to stear business to there certified PAY & PLAY for their certrification shops.. I have been in multiple shops that are TESLA approved and they employ the same technicians that all shops do. a good majority of these techs dont even have ICAR certifications or manufacture certifications. With Tesla for example they require specialized equipment that these shops must have to comply and dont even use it for the repairs because "it takes to long or I'll do it faster menatality" and with the amount of production days insurance compamies give a shop to repair from begining to end these guys make it happen without your specialized equipoment.

    Just like in the Seabach case in Texas, the insurance company only needs to get the consumer to pick the shop they want them to pick and the insurer avoids all the liability. Most insurers per the policy have the right to take the keys and bring the car where they want and like the Dodds v State Farm ruling the insurer is liable. In that case SF was liable for wrongful death.

    I had rust under windshield , so my bodyshop repaired the rust and painted panel finally , and said not to put cavity wax in this area , or else the silicone that holds the windshield will fail to get hold of windshield with the body panel , Was the bodyshop right ?
